Quinn Cook, a 6-foot-1 rising
sophomores PG from DeMatha Catholic in Hyattsville, Maryland, is a
unique point guard with a great upside. Cook has a grown a couple
inches in the last year, which has increased his stock as a
prospect. He’s more physical, more mature this spring playing with
Adidas Elite AAU team, DC Assault.
He has a good frame and should
ultimately fill out well. An excellent decision-maker, Cook was one
of the more impressive point guards I saw during the spring
evaluation period. He’s a high major prospect, who can pass, scores,
play defense and play under control.
I spoke with Cook recently and he gave me a
list of schools that have been showing interests in him so far.
“Connecticut, Kentucky, Syracuse,
Georgetown, Tennessee, Texas, NC State, Maryland, Virginia Tech,
Ohio State, George Mason, Xavier, Florida St, Duke, West Virginia,
Virginia, Pittsburgh, Stanford, Texas A&M,”
said Cook. “Also Villanova and Louisville as well are
interested.”
Cook talked a little about the factors that
will influence his choice.
“Coaching is important, education, family
atmosphere are some of things am going to consider,” said Cook.
“Exposure, and style of play also. Location doesn’t matter.”
Cook said he’ll take his time with the
decision.
“I’ll probably decide sometime after my
junior year, during the summer,” said Cook
